Akatombo Media Merchandise & Dog Helmets
We are very happy to announce the new merchandise section on the Akatombo Media website. When you click on the merchandise tab you will be directed to the Dog Helmets page and I’ll get to that later, but first I’d like to quickly point out the other page in the merchandise section. In the sub-menu for the Merchandise section you’ll see a link for Akatombo Products. When you click this link you’ll be directed to our Cafe Press store with some high-quality (I know because I gave some of them to my family as Christmas presents, and bought some for myself) products with the Akatombo Media logo on them. I was particularly impressed with the baseball jersey, the stein, and the large mug
Now on to the dog helmets:
A while back MJ, a fabulous designer who we frequently collaborate with, from SouZouZone posted on her weblog about some dog helmets she had seen in a motorcycle shop. A number of people from outside of Japan commented on her post asking where they could get these helmets. Having been in situations, on both sides of the ocean, of not being able to get things that I really wanted because they were only sold in the other country; I decided that I would try to make an agreement with the manufacturing company and begin selling these helmets. Having gotten in touch with the company and made the necessary arrangements, we are now able to bring motorcycle helmets for animals to you, wherever you are!
These helmets are very cool, and we plan to put up some pictures of our customers’ dogs wearing these helmets soon. We are also in the process of negotiating to make other very neat products for your dog available as well. The other people at Akatombo Media were initially skeptical about putting these helmets up for sale, but having seen the enthusiasm of our customers all doubt has vanished! These helmets are great and we are really happy to be able to bring them to you! If you are interested in these helmets please visit our dog helmet shop page and if you know anyone else who is interested, please direct them to http://www.akatombo.com/dog/.
We look forward to filling your order!
CEATEC JAPAN 2004 New Sections Open
We are proud to announce the opening of new pages on the CEATEC JAPAN 2004 website catered to visitors to the exhibition from the general public and members of the press.
The Visitors section will help attendees find the latest news from exhibitors, sponsors, and the organizing committee. You can also choose a number of product categories from CEATEC JAPAN’s extensive list, and search for companies providing products in these categories. You will be able to find information on exhibitor, sponsor and other events scheduled to take place during the event, and be able to pre-register to attend not just the Exhibition itself, but the keynote speeches and special events.
The Search function will allow you to search the full text of the site for topics of interest to you, and will also allow you to refine your search to just the categories you are interested in.
The Press section will provide members of the media find all the information they need to make it easier to report on CEATEC JAPAN 2004 including various press kit and logo data downloads. You will be able to find the latest press releases from exhibitors and sponsors of CEATEC, and find information on how to gain access to the special press facilities.
The News / Web Magazine section provides, as it says, a web magazine, that will give news of interest about topics related to the exhibition.
One last item of interest:
Very soon you will be able to make hotel reservations for hotels near the event all in one place.
Before long we will be bringing up French, German, Korean, Spanish, and Chinese versions of these sections on a limited basis. The CEATEC JAPAN 2004 website is underway in earnest, providing information to visitors and the press. Check it out!

First I’d like to thank the academy…
w00t!!
I just won the prestigiously unannounced 5000th comment at Antipixel sweepstakes!
I would like to request that my Kappa-bashi sushi replica be Salmon; my book be Jef Raskin’s “The Humane Interface”; my delicious squid jerky (I love that stuff!) be enjoyed over beer with good friends; and (via Propagandhi) that all my interventions be humanitarian.
Kind of embarrassing that I win this prize when I haven’t posted anything here for quite a while, but the Raskin book is definitely worth blushing for!
Thanks Jeremy! I like the 5000th comment prize idea, and will use it on my 5000th post in the year 2058 or so
